Filament was part of Bounce! Founded by Treena Stubel in 2009 to support new work by independent dance and physical theatre artists. As a long time collaborator and friend of Victoria’s Atomic Vaudeville cabaret, she was inspired to create a similar event (based on short skits or pieces) for the dance, movement and physical theatre community.

“When forests and fairies collide with electronic beats, the effect is a dazzling show for young people…Love, a key theme in Shakespeare’s play, is relatable to young and old, Glanville said. But Kaleidoscope’s latest production adds a modern pop culture touch that blends the Elizabethan era with the information age: electronic music. The most important part of the play is it makes Shakespeare applicable and interesting to a young audience, by doing away with the “stodgy vibe” that sometimes accompanies the playwright’s works.” – Victoria News, Erin Cardone

“Seuss Lights Up the Stage—Saltwater Theatre brings a fantastical, magical musical to Victoria audiences. This Broadway musical comes to Victoria to enchant young and old, big and small with a story of bravery, friendship and inspiration.
The show features Victoria’s Alison Roberts as the faithful Gertrude McFuzz; Kelly Hudson as the Sour Kangaroo, Sarah Carlé as Mayzie LaBird and Mikel Wall as Horton the Elephant and a fabulous cast directed and choreographed by Phoebe Rumsey.” Victoria News

With music and libretto by Dean Burry, artistic direction by Hounsell and choreography by Phoebe Rumsey, Mummers Masque is making its West Coast premiere this holiday season.
Hosted by Father Christmas and featuring a tall tale about St. George and the Dragon (with a few gender-bending twists), Mummers Masque offers dance, music, laughter, romance, heartache. It questions the matters of life, death and rebirth.
At times, Mummers Masque feels like a down-home kitchen party, complete with traditional folk instruments native to Newfoundland, including a homemade percussion instrument called the “ugly stick.”
